What are some nicknames for the name Richard?

nothing involving "rich" as in rich, richie, etc. and not ricky or rick. ricardo is no good either. R is not one of my favorite letters so something not beginning with R please.

My friend's father's name is Richard and their last name is Dover and anytime he meets someone for the first time he puts his hand out to shake and says with the straightest face, "Hi, nice to meet you, I'm d**k Dover."  Just say it aloud and try not to laugh.  But somehow, he pulls it off every time.  He really does go by d**k.  And no, my friend's brother's name is not Ben...

I have a Great Uncle Richard who goes by d**k, but that's definitely not a great nickname for children today.

How about something a bit more unorthodox?  Charlie would be perfect; it has the 'Char' from the middle of Richard, so it actually does work.  Char, Chard or Harley might be other possibilities.

Well the typical nicknames for Richard are Rich, Richie, Rick, Ricky, d**k and Dicky. So you might like d**k or Dicky, but I would understand if you don't....I wouldn't want to be called d**k. Hope this helps! =)
