Question:

What are some non-acidic foods/beverages...?

or foods that decrease the amount of acidity in one's stomach? I know taking an antacid such as Tums would work but it's not good to take it too much as it can lead to kidney infections (or something like that I read a while back). Please also list the foods/beverages that are highly acidic if you can so I know which ones to avoid.

    I normally drink water or milk, since they are fairly close to 7.0 pH

    The closer to 7.0 they are, the more neutral.  

    Acidic:   <7 pH

    Alkaline:  >7 pH

  3. Avoid the more sour types of foods as they are more acidic and have a lower pH. Go to the links below they have charts and tables showing which foods are base (alkali) and acidic and neutral.
