  1. rub a gold ring on the sty.  works every time

  2. Try this easy technique. this what I always do and it works every time.  Soak tea bags in warm water and lay it over your stye for 15 minutes 2X daily.  It'll go away w/in a couple days - works like a charm!

  3. Go to the health food store - like GNC or Whole Foods.  There is a product line called Similassen - they have some excellent eye drops that should help you.

  4. An eye doctor is nothing to be scared of. The only thing an eye doctor has in his exam rooms are a couple machines, so there is nothing to be afarid of. Getting medication you your eyes is not reccomend for you to do on your own. You could make your eye worst then when you started.

For a stye I could say put a warm wash cloth on it and it will pop. You will have to put pessure on the eye. you will be careful about getting anything in the eye. I would say just be carfull

  5. A lot of the time a doctor won't give you a prescription they just tell you to put warm compresses on it throughout the day.

  6. I have been an Optometrist Assistant for 5 years and have delt with this before.

Get a warm rag and hold it over the eye for 15 minutes 3 to 6 times a day. The gland (meibomian gland)on your eyelid can get clogged.  Which creates styes.  Just see if the warm compresses help. DON"T PICK AT IT. let it open on its own. Just make sure the rag is warm. If not, keep it under hot water and warm it agian.  This will warm the puss like "hardened butter" would melt, and it will come out eventually.

ALSO besides the compresses which u need to do, u can purchase "Stye" from the drug store and put the ointment on the stye.  Should help too.

NO MAKEUP or Contacts until gone.

If this goes away, you need to be sure to clean your eyelids real good every night.  Or this will happen agian and agian.  You can try Ocusoft scrubs. They sell them at any drug store.  They are eye lid scrubbers.  This will prevent any more from forming.

Styes are nothing but infection of the hair-follicle of the eye-lashes.They are also called HARDEOLUM-EXTERNUM.One simple way is to apply hot fomentation to the eye and when the pus starts pointing just pull out the hair-follicle and the stye disappears.

Next you can apply some eye ointment or applicaps available in the chemist . only don't apply any dirty Handkerchief or dirty cloth for it may get infected and you may have to take antibiotics.

  8. No ointments etc, prescription or non prescription are useful for styes.

The only treatment that a doctor will recommend is to use a warm compress on the eye for 10 minutes every hour.  You can use a wet cloth, a wet tea bag, a hard boiled egg, a wet gauze pad or those blue gel packs that you soak in hot water-- anything that will hold heat over the eye for the 10 minutes.

If you have recurrent styes (more that 3/year) you should see an eye doctor who may recommend therapy to prevent them.
