What are some nice ocean vacation spots with shallow beaches -gentle waves - and all inclusive resorts w/i walking?

A beach that would be good for a non-swimmer who likes to go in the ocean-or eldery. They need easy access to the beach from the resort, prefer all inclusive resorts-- Thank you for any help!

  1. We love to go to Sandals in Negril Jamaica every year.  The resort is beautiful, the beach is clean and calm, the food is delicious and plentiful, and the people are charming and will do anything to make your stay perfect.

If you haven't yet seen the site tripadvisor.com, you should go there and check out what other people have to say about it or other resorts you might be interested in.

The resort is all-inclusive.  You can do as little or as much as you want.  Be sure to try the drink Hummingbird YUM!  Also try a Jamaican Patty at the beach grill.

Hope you have a great vacation.

  2. Cuba is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribeean...and if you're not a US citizen, it will be easier to travel there.

The beaches go way out and do not start out deep. You can walk easily along beautiful soft white sand viewing gorgeous turquoise waters.

And the resorts are right there on the beaches of Cuba.

Here are some links to see for beaches and resorts:

**Edit: basically travel to Cuba from the US is not what is 'illegal'....it's the spending of money that the US has issues with...all because of the embargo.

However, things may start to be lifted with US travel to Cuba, but still seems like it won't be for awhile....

But as you quoted, there are special travel licenses that permit US citizens to go 'legally' to Cuba if you fall under any category such as family visitation, medical, journalism, teaching, education, volunteering, sports, etc...purposes.

So some do choose to travel to Cuba via another country such as Canada...as long as you don't leave paper trails and bring into the US Cuban souvenirs, then they don't usually know you've been in Cuba and 'bought' anything.

And Cuba does not stamp your passport...therefore, not showing that you were there...and then you come back through Canada and back home.

**Edit: basically all of the beaches in Cuba are easy to walk in and do easy snorkelling...best thing you can do is take a banana with you in the water and start feeding the fish...you'll see beautifully coloured fish swim all around you...harmless fish and gorgeous.

I recommend Cayo Coco though. It's a little quieter and more of a relaxed pace than some other areas since it's a little ways out from the mainland (45 minute drive to the city of Morón)...easy to get to but not 15 or 20 minutes away.

And it sounds like you're looking for something a little quieter.

But there is a lot to do and not boring AT ALL.

  4. Beaches Resorts in Turks & Caicos!!!!!!! Definitely. I have been to many resorts with my entire family (mom, dad, 2 brothers, grandparents, 2 cousins, aunt & uncle) and we went to Turks and Caicos this past summmer and LOVED every minute of it. It is all inclusive and it has something for everyone. Their advertisements have Sesame Street Characters all over, but in the actual resort it is not like that and they are only in certain childrens areas at certain times. My family ranges from age 1 to 64 and I'm telling you they have something for every single age group there. The food is absolutely wonderful. Be sure to make reservations at the French restaurant because it is adult only and absolutely wonderful. The people there treat you like royalty. If you prefer a nicer hotel room stay in the French Village. It is beautiful. The water there is the nicest that i've ever seen and i've been to many tropical islands.

Do not go to Dominican though. It is cheaper, and there are reasons why it is cheaper. My family went there and we allllll got sick from the food and were living off of bananas and tostitos the entire time. It was literallly awful. A bunch of my friends that go there get sick too in the beginning and "put up" with the food. But you shouldnt have to do that on vacation.

The food in Beaches Turks & Caicos is great. they have a place called Bobby Dees for the kids and it is so much fun! My family is going back this year because we love it so much.

    Good luck! :)

  5. Casa de Campo in the Domincan Republic is the most romantic place my husband and I have ever went!

  6. I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.

  7. Playa Dorada - Puerto Plata - Dominican Republic without any doubts ! The best and at reasonable prices !
