What are some odd/unknown ways for a college student to save money?

I will be workin full time and going to school full time and was wondering if there's any other ways some ppl don't think about to save money.

Keep your expenses to the basics

Food, clothing, shelter and tuition money.  thats all you need.

-cancel your internet at home and use the library.

-cancel your cell phone and your land line phone, ppl actually CAN live without them.  Not to mention you can't blow all your cash on delivery Pizza with no phone.

-Realize that room temperature, "is more of a guideline, anyway"

-if all you are doing is working and going to school, you will save money... with less time to spend and shop.

-For christmas, birthdays and bank holidays ask your family for practical items like bulk shampoo, toilet paper, laundry soap, cleaning items, hair cuts, Ramen noodles, school supplies or the good ole fashon WalMart gift card.

-Sell your car, use public transportation if available or arrange your work and scheule around the system.  Move to a place within walking or biking distance to school or work was always my best technique.

-Realize you need to apply for scholarships every year.  EARLY.  Early is in Feb or March for the next academic year.

and don't forget the higher your GPA is, the more likely you are to get a scholarship or tuition waiver.

-car payments with full coverage insurance (not to mention gas) is a huge expense and troublesome if you want to survive in school.  (If they ever do a study of the student most likely to drop out, it's the ones with car payments)

Avoid: out of state tuition and private schools unless you've got a full ride.  (Don't be fooled by large scholarship amouns.  What good is a 10K scholarship if your total tuition is 40K?)  Avoid private loans, new text books, school supplies from the campus bookstore, and credit card offers of any shape form or fashon.
