What are some of China's customs that are different then Americas?

Well let's see...

1. Chinese are very family oriented.

2. Importance of "Face" (Keeping it)

3. They seem to cut in front of the line w/o regards

4. Spit on the streets

5. They answer cell phones where ever public places they may be (I.E. movie theaters, job interviews, on the bus, subways etc.)

6. Some are humble (vs. where Chinese might think Americans are braggarts when Americans talk about themselves...)

Open your eyes. That's just typical human behavior.

It's safe to say that the Chinese have more "family value" because they are way more family oriented, and they still have more respect for the elders than American. I know many Chinese also believe that it is a disgrace to send the elders in your family to a nursing home.

the whole family teachings of china is... no matter what you must listen to your parents and elders, but to the extreme, until your parents die, they own you..

that's why they think nursing homes are horrible and americans are rude

they also have a lot more manners and sayings. their language is very vast as in there are different ways to say things, you don't need any inflection in your voice, but you can still express yourself

the chinese have things they don't wear.. e.g. linen they only wear that for funerals,

you never give a clock as a gift

china's history is so long that they've have  had a lot of time to come up with all of this.

but this is all changing like me.. i don't really care about any of this and neither does my dad, but my mom still goes by the "old rules"

Chinese in USA send their parents to nursing homes all the time, especially if they can get a good deal on the price or get free benefits from the US government.
