  1. If you went to Wikipedia.com and looked up "Galileo" then you would see what he had to contribute

    most importantly though, were the telescope and the fact that Earth was not heliocentrical - meaning, the Earth revolves around the sun, not everything revolving around the Earth which was believed at the time.


  2. Discovering that the sun was the center of the solar system and not the earth. He also discovered sun spots on the sun and build his own telescope. He did lots of stuff.

  3. Galileo's greatest contributions to science were his descriptions of the behavior of moving objects. He did this through experimentation.

    Though he did not invent the telescope (common misconception....it was a Dutch lens maker who had come up with lenses that magnified objects), without ever seeing one, he constructed his own. He made many and with the best one he made (which had a magnification of about 30) he was able to view the Universe in detail. He made many discoveries that supported the Copernican view of the Universe.
