What are some of the National Anthem tradations for hockey teams?

In Dallas we yell "STARS!" when it comes up and i know Detroit yells "RED!". Chicago does something but i don't remember what it was. Anyway just curious.

We have people that pop balloons for the line the bombs bursting in air. But I hate that. You should not yell or do stuff like that during the anthem . It is very disrespectful. I personally just sing it. I also sing the Canadian anthem as well.

In Washington, we yell O (some people yell OV) for Ovechkin during that part of the anthem.

Hurricanes yell RED! too... The shouting things in the anthem has become rather common I'm afraid...

Chicago used to have a tradition where they would cheer wildly through it instead of just standing there. That was kind of cool. In Edmonton the fans sing it, at least during the playoffs.

Right- the flyers, God Bless America, and a Kate Smith superstition. forgot about that.

Sabres do both regardless of who's playing- Canada and US anthems that is.

The Hanson brothers of the Charlestown Chiefs start fights before it's played. Then when the ref yells at them for it, they say, "Quiet, I'm listening to the f***** song!"

Nothing like that but we have Lauren Hart sing God Bless America.Shes is the daughter of former announcer and Hall of Famer Gene Hart,who battled cancer and was the singer of the National Anthem in the movie "Miracle".On special occasions she will sing a duet with Kate Smith and her long red carpet(For Laying Low).Kate sang it during Game 6 of the first Stanley Cup of the Flyers so when Laurens belting it out they put Kate on the arenavision.It is quite a sight.
