  1. Advantage less dependent on oil.Disavantage, there is not enough space for growing crops for heat, fuel and eating so many will starve while you get to drive your car.I really think we can do better its just not there yet.Should we be switching over yes,as we can.

  2. Advantages

    1. May be cheaper

    2. Better for Environment

    3. Society creates better technology to sustain itself on alternative fuels.  Also better technology can boost economy.

    4. Close to unlimited amount of cheap energy. (if at all possible)

    Disadvanges

    1.  World economy might hit a recession if alternative fuel is adopted too quickly (just making a guess here)

    2.  World politics affected to the point where fights among nations might occur (can you say pre WWIII)(another guess)

    3. People may be forced to move to create a new infrastructure to create alternative fuel.

Most of the things I've listed are just guesses.  But with change there are also unhappy people.

  3. Main advantage is we don't need to import it.

Main disadvantage is we can't make nearly enough.

  4. The two biggest advantages to alternative fuel are 1. Stopping our dependence on foreign oil and 2. Creating cleaner burning fuels that won't pollute or poison our atmosphere with Co2.

The biggest disadvantage I can think of so far is how we are making these alternative fuels. Mexico is in the middle of a tortilla crisis. Maize is a staple food there and a lot of the middle and poorer classes are having a very hard time affording to eat. It simply doesn't do to make fuels while people starve.

There are of course other fuels besides corn derived ethanol but funding on bettering the efficiency of these fuels or finding new ones is very low. Believe me scientists don't make as much as you think they do, and finding grants to fund their projects takes up more time than they spend in the lab.

Right now I think two of the best alternative fuels are Kompogas which uses organic waste to create fuel. (Which is awesome, imagine if your leftovers and banana peels and grass clippings could be used for fuel.)  http://www.kompogas.ch/en/

The other really neat technology coming out is biofuel made by algae. http://www.unh.edu/p2/biodiesel/article_...

    I hope this helps.

  5. There are only advantages and no disadvantages if we use the "World's Cleanest Car".

"  After fourteen years of research and development, Guy Negre has developed an engine that could become one of the biggest technological advances of this century. Its application to Compressed Air Technology(CAT) vehicles gives them significant economical and environmental advantages. With the incorporation of bi-energy (compressed air + fuel) the CAT Vehicles have increased their driving range to close to 2000 km with zero pollution in cities and considerably reduced pollution outside urban areas.

The application of the MDI engine in other areas, outside the automotive sector, opens a multitude of possibilities in nautical fields, co-generation, auxiliary engines, electric generators groups, etc. Compressed air is a new viable form of power that allows the accumulation and transport of energy. MDI is very close to initiating the production of a series of engines and vehicles. The company is financed by the sale of manufacturing licenses and patents all over the world."

  6. Disadvantage is that we can continue to pollute forever.

  7. idk i'll have to think
