  1. my feet dont get as hot as in shoes

feels good to walk out in the grass barefoot

like to wash the car barefoot - water feels good

going to the beach and not worrying about putting on shoes

get better feedback from my car driving barefoot

  2. It's funny. There are so many advantages but they are sometimes difficult to describe.

I feel more alive when I am barefoot. The explosion of sensory input that I feel when I throw off my shoes and walk about nature barefoot (the way it should be) is amazing.

I feel more spiritual. Feeling the Earth with my bared feet makes me feel closer to nature. I especially like walking outdoors barefoot on natural surfaces when there is a full moon out. Talk about feeling spiritual.

I feel younger. Walking barefoot reminds me that life is supposed to be fun and exciting. That every instant is to be savored and enjoyed fully.

I feel energized. I seem to draw energy and life from the Earth through the direct contact with my bared soles. A short barefoot walk awakens me, especially in at night when it is cool out, or in winter when it is chilly out. Throws off the doldrums and the blues.

I feel healthy. I don't get colds as much as I used to before I started making it a point to go out barefoot more. Plus my feet and ankles are in great shape, stronger than ever.

Did I mention it's fun? It's also very sensual and erotic.

    4. your feet breathe better

  8. your feet dont stink

you have better balance due to the fact that the nerve endings on the bottom of your feet are able to feel shifting foundations better

    and that's about it,

    the bad

your feed get hard and ugly

you run the risk of injury from objects on the ground

and you have to worry about hook worms and other parasites that can enter the body through the constantly open pores on the botoms of the feet

  11. In general, being barefoot promotes healthy development of musculature in the feet and legs, while excessive reliance on shoes tends to promote atrophy and weakness in those same muscles. This suggests that overdependency on shoes can have serious consequences. A study published in the September 2006 issue of Arthritis and Rheumatism found that “modern shoes may exacerbate the abnormal mechanics of lower-extremity osteoarthritis.”  Researchers concluded that maybe it was time to re-evaluate our daily walking programs,

presumably to include time for walking barefoot.

Walking barefoot is also a good way to avoid athlete’s foot. Contrary to a widely believed myth, it is not the sole-to-ground contact that presents a risk so much as it is feet going back into the moist, dark, warm environment found inside shoes. Closed-toe shoes especially are ideal incubators for fungi and bacteria to live and breed. Allowing the feet to “breathe” also prevents foot odor.

“Going barefoot is the gentlest way of walking and can symbolize a way of living-being authentic, vulnerable, sensitive to our surroundings. It’s the feeling of enjoying warm sand beneath out toes, or carefully making our way over sharp rocks in the darkness. It’s a way of living that has the lightest impact, removing the barrier between us and nature.”
