The parts of history most important to me are ones that have happened during my lifetime, e.g. the first man into space; the moon landing; the assassinations of John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King; the coronation of Queen Elizabeth; the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Di; WWII, War in Vietnam, Korean War, the events on Sept 11, etc.  Now, think of important events that you remember.
