  1. BEANS

    Quick & Easy BBQ Beans

2 Large cans Pork & Beans ( About 28 oz)

½ pound Pork Breakfast Sausage (Spicey sausage works too!)

    1Bottle "Demon Pig BBQ Sauce"

Drain beans, saving liquid. Brown and crumble sausage into very small pieces.

Mix all ingredients gently in an ovenproof pan. If necessary, add bean liquid to thin. More water may be needed while heating.

Heat covered slowly for one hour in a 300 degree oven. Stir after 30 minutes.

If you are in a big hurry, this an be done on the stop top, but must be stirred almost constantly to prevent burning.

    Serve with any main course.

COLE SLAW IS ALMOST A REQUIREMENT, TOO

  2. dog turds on hot dog buns are good

  3. I usually put out carrot batons and celery with dips, doritos and salsa dip, peanuts and sometimes I do a chocolate fondue with strawberries, raisins, melon and marshmallows to keep them going til the main course. Don't want to overdo it otherwise they won't eat all those sausages and burgers in rolls, chicken, steak etc. Have a good time!

  4. coleslaw

    chips

  5. salads, dips, cheese tray

  6. CON QUESO

    1 (8 oz)pkg cream cheese, softened

1-2 cans Rotel tomatoes (I like with jalapenos)

8 oz. shredded cheddar or Mexican cheeses

Melt all together and use as a hot dip with tortilla chips

Veggie platter with Ranch dressing ...  Fruit platter

Spinach Dip (use the one on the package of Knorr vegetable soup and serve it in a hollowed-out sourdough bread)

    Deviled eggs

These are the appetizers that we usually have at BBQs (I'm also in Texas)

  7. Pretzels

  8. haven had a great answer.  Appetizers generally consist of the basic veggie trays and dips, chips, cheeses, etc.   Side dishes can vary greatly....different salads and grilled veggies, rices, etc....

  9. onion dip and chips

BBQ pork, chicken turkey and ribs"or a varitation of the 4"

Corn on the Cob grilled and dipped in roasted garlic chili lime butter

Grilled eggplant, portobello mushrooms, squash, peppers, onions, tomatos, poblano peppers for the veggie lovers

    Good chunky potato salad

    Lettuce salad

    Chips and dips

    Veggie platter and dips

    Fruit platter and fruit dips

Sodas, juice boxes, beers, Margaritas"original and fruit", 1 bottle of Wine, and Wine coolers"usually have a bar set up"

Desserts: Main is a 4 tier cake last one was a red velvet devils food chocolate with whipped chocolate butter cream and toasted almonds, Brownies, cup cakes and cookies for the kids.

We usually have about 100 ppl at our BBQ's so we make alot of food enough to feed a small Battalion..lol but alot of leftovers if there is any get sent home with the guests with many thanks and compliments. And we usually end up with an invite to come cater for them again in the future. Which for us is the biggest bonus we could ever get.

  11. Ok, well I'm from Texas and pretty much have grown up at BBQs, so when I saw your question I felt obligated to answer. Here are some of the best simple little recipes, cause who wants to be in a kitchen on a hot day?

Buy a bag of tortillas (flour or corn tastes best), spread with a little butter, sprinkle with red pepper powder, cut into strips and place on a cookie sheet. Bake them for about 10 minutes (till crispy and puffy) at 375.  *Much better than any old bag kind)

Serve with some nacho cheese from the store warmed up with a jar of salsa mixed in.

    Cole slaw

Sweet iced tea is just about a must

Melon balls (honey dew, watermelon, cantalope)

Spicy cornbread biscuits- Buy a pack of cornbread and prepare as it directs. Next mix in some diced red and yellow pepper, a little jalapeno if you'd like and bake. Half way through the bake time, sprinkle with shredded cheese.
