  1. Try Jade Palace. Me and my family once had dinner there and we really liked it but it might be pricy but it's worth it.

  2. 1.) Barcino Gourmet

2/f City Golf Plaza, Julia Vargas Avenue Ortigas, Pasig City, Telephone number: 636-2963

Setting: this little wine and tapas bar is a find. with teh cosy surroundings, the atmosphere is what is being ofered: a wine cellar turned into a bistro. It's a place you can go just drink and eat for long periods of time, just as the spanish do.

Food: the food si straightforward and simple. if you are looking for comfort, home cooked, SPanish meals, head to this gem of a restaurant. signature dished include cold cuts, cheese, pate, paella, callos, and fabada.

Wine:the wine, the wine!! wine connoisseurs will love this place! you may order wine for your table or for your cellar, and with an abundant supply to choose from, there's guarantee that there will be no shortage. The Premium vitate is lovely with tapas.

Service: though the staff seems t consist of two people (the manager and his waiter) they are both very gracious and very helpful with the food selections by making suggestions.

PRice: the restaurant is not that expensive unless you are buying a whole bunch of wine, you will have enough money for several rounds of its tapas with wine.

    2.) HEAT

EDSA Shangri-La Manila 1 Garden Way, ORtigas Center, Mandaluyong CIty, Telephone Number 633-8888 ext 2740/2741

setting: the seats are laid out along the perimeter of the restaurant giving you a 360 degree view of the outside pol area. the interior is polished and elegant, unlike what you would expect from a buffet-type eatery, but then again, this is not jsut any buffet offering restaurant.

Food: Diners in this establishment don't run out of choices and if they do they must have a really unusaull high capacity for digestion. Each section is laden with several dishes to satisfy even the most fickle of eaters. they recommend the salmon sa miso, lechon, and their international selection.

Wine: the list is nothing to write home about, but there is a selection which also can be part of the buffet package. Have a word with your server about this specifically for the pricing and how much it adds on the meal.

Service: The staff are courteous and efficient, considering that they have to attend to several people at once. The area is large and many peple are ordering, more often than not, drinks. They arrive surprisingly promptly and when asked, your server will accomodate your needs.

Price: This is not too pricey a restaurant, though it is good for a nice date or a family or group get together. It is not too formal, but it does require you to look clean and decent.

    3.) Paparazzi

EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, 1 Garden Way, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City Telephone number (632) 63398888 loc 2922 or 2423

Setting: the rosewood interior, comfortable wooden chairs and Murano glass pieces adoning the wall make for a sophisticated dining experience.

Food: The Italian chef, Francesco Rizzo, whips up traditional Italian dishes with a personal touch to suit the Filipino palate. For starters, try his fresh and light Goldn Scallop Salad with crispy asparagus, bell peppers julienne, Portobello mushroom, lemon oil, reduction of merlot and figs dressing. The Manila Baby Lobster Linguine cooked in original olive oil and fresh tomato, and the tender Veal Osso Buco over light truffle flavored soft polenta are just some of the innovative dishes you can llok forward to. other signature dishes include beef carpaccio, grilled portobello mushrooms, fried calamari, pan fried sea bass, baked rack of lamb, and the veal chop.

Wine: The F&B director, Chad Daves, is very well informed about the extensive collection as he selects the bottle to go with your meal. Recommended white wine is the Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and the Dolcetto D' Alba from Tuscany for the red.

Service: Teh restaurant manager, Jojo Berenquer and his efficient staff are very knowledgeable and are wuick to attend to your every need.

Price. You would expect to pay more by the standard of restaurants in five star hotels, but given the quality of the food it's definitely worth the cost.
