  1. The 2007 Mets are the first team that came to mind.  The 2006 Cards nearly missed a huge collapse as well.

  2. For Major-League style collapse, see 1951 Dodgers and 1969 Cubs.  That's all I've got to say.

    And I'm a Cubs fan.

  3. What about the 1978 Boston Red Sox, they held a 14 game lead over the Yankees  in July & we all know what happened that year, Bucky Dent.

  4. The main one I can think of is the Phillies gagging away the NL pennant in '64 to the Cardinals. The other was the Cubs losing their lead to the Mets in '69.

  5. biggest collapse ever

1995 angels were once 10 games up or something in first place by the month of august and then they blew it to the mariners by the end of the year.

I cant think of a more worse one than that.

  6. The 1969 Cubs were 32 games over .500 on Sept. 2. They finished the season going 8-17 and lost to the Miracle Mets by 8 games.

  7. What about the 1985 St. Louis Cardinals?

Bottom of the ninth, against the KC Royals, and a blown call in Game 6 cost them the game....................Cards lost Game 7 by 11 points..........They just completely folded and KC won the World Series..............

  8. 2006 Minnesota Twins were down at a worst 10 games behind the White Sox and 8 games behind the Tigers and after the Summer they were in between...I don't know if you call it a Tigers/White Sox Collapse but more of a Twins comeback
