  1. You men besides s*x determination? You need XX to have a female, and XY to have a male in humans, and other sexually dimorphic species.

    Some genetic disorders are also s*x-chromosome linked, like hemophilia, Duchenne's muscular dystrophy and color blindness.


  2. well, an obvious one is if you're male or female

    there is a gene for color vision (and therefore color blindness) is one the X chromosome, so are some lovely genes for diseases like hemophilia, muscular dystrophy and Kearns-Sayre syndrome, which causes you to lose function of muscles eyes and heart.

    there's also some stuff like whether or not you have attached or detached earlobes, and whether or not your thumb can bend backwards.

    in animals it does certain things like determine the color of their fur.

    if you're looking at a genetic pedigree you can tell something is s*x-linked because mostly males will express the gene
