What are some of the more useful courses to take in college to be able to go into the Peace Corps?

I know foreign languages are important, but what else?

  1. It really doesn't matter.  All you need is a college degree or 5+ years of applicable experience.  Don't worry about your major.  As long as you are healthy, have a postive attitute, have some level of previous experience and aren't weird the Peace Corps will probably accept you.

    Your college major should be something that interests you. Peace Corps shouldn't be a factor when choosing your major.  Think about the big picture and what you want to do long term.

    Foreign lanuages aren't that important.  Just because you speak Spanish or French that doesn't mean they will send you to a place where those languages are spoken.  Peace Corps isn't always logical.

    Follow your interests and you will be happier in the long run and Peace Corps will probably accept you in any event.  


  2. Depends on what you want to do in the Peace Corp but it is very important to lean another language.  I applied for Teaching English abroad and they asked me to take a TESOL class.
