What are some of the most annoying things a waitress/waitor does?

this isn't their fault all the time but when they give you the wrong order. when they never ask if you need anything.

People have to understand that it's the server's job to check on the table. If they don't, the customer may complain. They're just trying to cover their butts.

I think it's annoying when it's not busy and the server deliberately ignores you.....like if you see them smoking a cigarette, talking in the phone, etc. when you need to order or get your bill.

disappearing.and  Being annoyed by checking all the time to the customer is not good. I used to just keep myself within eyesite and if my customer needed me  Id run over.

Give the bill before I even receive my food.

Happened on my Honeymoon, eating a breakfast at a restaurant in Niagara Falls. I can see it was busy, but come on, what if I wanted more?? So, that was quite annoying, and down ride rude.

Stays at your table and talks to you like we even care about who they are and how their kid is doing in school.  I'm not going out to dinner to make small talk with my waitress.  And then have to tip them

I am usually very understanding because I am a former server, but one thing that annoys me (especially when it is slow) is when I have an empty drink.

One thing that I hate and I know it's small and petty, but it just sounds very unprofessional is when a waiter/waitress asks, "Do you need any change" (I know you work at CB and you pay at the register there, but if anybody ever does pay you and you go up the register yourself) it just sounds like your expecting a tip, and that is not a good impression at all. The best thing to do is to say, "I'll be right back with your change." If the bill is all set, they will let you know.

I HATE it when the waiter sits down at the table, that has happened to me a few times.  Or it they talk to you too much, I dont mind making friendly conversation, but I dont need to know their entire life story.

BEING IGNORED IS THE WORST.  IF I AM CHECK UP ON OFTEN AND KEPT INFORMED ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING,  THE FOOD WILL BE HERE IN ABOUT.   HAVING A LITTLE TROUBLE WITH,  JUST KEEP ME INFORMED  AND KEEP MY POP GLASS FILLED WHILE I AM WAITING.

I find it annoying if the weightor is constantly asking my table if we need anything. I mean, I don't mind it if he or she asks a few times. But if they keep coming back.. I mean, I guess that would make a bad weightor.

Not paying attention when you need refills is the main one I can think of.

And I always use straws too so I like it when they go ahead  give you one.  That may be wasteful considering some people don't use straws, but at least offer them.  

And make sure someone is done eating before you take their plate, I once saw a waiter take the plate from my dad even though he was clearly still eating.

And I would much rather the waiter check on the table often, it shows they actually care and are doing their job, so I don't know why everyone's complaining.  It's better than not being there when they need you.
