  1. The Louvre, Champs Elysees, Larc de tripmphe, Eiffel tower, Musee DOrsay.  All of these sights are along the Seine river and easy to get from one to the other

  2. First time in Paris was on a school trip.

It was a big deal as they took us to the Follies Berger, the outside was like a great windmill lit up and turning at night. Loved the Flea Market and seeing the student artists at Monmartre. The Sacra Coeur and Notre Dame were very impressive cathedrals just the size and grandeur.  I remember walking along the Champs Elysee and in the distance I could see the Arc De Triumph, that was impressive too.

But I remember the Louvre, running up the stairs and trying to see the Mona Lisa and the statue of David before it closed.  Now you can see the glass pyramid in the courtyard entrance (remember it was used in the DaVinci Code).

One funny thing that I remember was the Pissoirs in the streets.  The French men would stand behind them and you could see the top of their body, they would greet the young girls with "bonjour", as they took care of the business in hand.

The most impressive of all was the Eiffel Tower, it was worth the time and effort to get up to the top, it was breathtaking.

  3. The Eiffel tower i don't know why but it's pretty impressive.

  4. Buy the Rick Steve's travel book.     About $15, very insightful.

See: Notre Dame, Rive Gauche, Ecole Militaire, La Louvre, Le tour Eiffel,  the list is endless.  Paris est une belle ville.
