What are some of the negatice effects of online schooling?

There are no inherent negative effects of online schooling. It's going to depend on the student and the individual online program. Some might say that no interaction is a downside, but it's certainly not a negative effect--and for some, the less interaction, the better because they get through stuff more quickly.

Negative effects will be the results of choices made by online schooling, not the online schooling itself. It's like parenting: parenting itself doesn't have negative effects, but choices made in parenting can have horrible effects.

online college homework is largely independent. if you have a hard time grasping subject matter easily, and need help from a teacher quite often then online college may be hard for you. it takes a lot of self discipline to keep current with  your work load and not fall behind. Online college however is absolutely awesome if you do not have a problem with these areas.

With online schooling you have little personal interaction, you have to be able to work independently, you have to be self-motivated, and you need to be able to learn mostly by reading things for yourself.  It also does not emphasize creativity or discovery, and I would think it could also become tedious.
