    This is the most backward and disadvantaged area of the southern Punjab. Most of the population is dependent upon Agriculture, which include poor small farmers whose land holding is two to three acres each and tenant farmers/ Agriculture labourers. The children of these tenant farmers are forced to work on Landlord’s fields. Health facilities in these communities are non-existent. Literacy rate is below the nations own appalling thirty-three percent figures. Female Literacy rate is very low which is touching dangerous figures. There are no proper female educational facilities operating in this area. Government has built a few Girl Primary schools in this area, the schools are not properly working due to lack of teaching staff. Quality of education is very poor as teachers are not well educated and trained.
