Obviously this can be a major problem. I haven't fooled with thermostats or replaced a radiator for a long time. Any suggestions as to how to start to trouble shoot the prob?

  1. there are many reasons for overheating...so before you waste your time checking things that are not wrong..anyone on this forum will need more info.for any intelligent answers

  2. ill try to help.

like one said, check coolant. If low fill and find leak, could be head gasket, or hose or water pump or rad.

Check oil, if milky its a head gasket

see if it is circulating, Sometimes u can look into rad and see water flowing, but todays cars are hard, so after it reaches operating temp, the upper hose should be stiff, But rad could be clogged, so squeeze it, when u release, should feel a surge. It probably going to fail. In that case if no leak., water pump, clogged rad, thermostat, belt

Also some cars the heater core being clogged could cause over heating if looped in system without a bypass, dont know about cameros.

hope this helps. just quick suggestions to get u started.

  3. Have ya checked the coolant levels lately? If it is full, it could be many reasons..radiator, fans, hoses. Take it to a shop if you don't know how to assess the issue at hand.

  4. Stop guessing and take the car to a RADIATOR SHOP and get it checked. Often free for a check up.
