The weakness in the dollar stems from 3 main factors:

A) Money Supply

B) Account Deficit

C) Trade Deficit

Those the 3 factors dictate the value of the Dollar.

The main reason is trade deficits. This is the economist standpoint. The finance standpoint is that right now we have low interest rates. This means foreign investors shy away from US financial instruments. The last and least important is high inflation. If internal inflation is that high the dollar will devalue on the international market.
