I know I don't do as much as I can but I have started walking more, recycling more, and turning down the heat, as well as turning off lights that aren't being used. What are you doing to help?

  1. I make it a conscious effort to turn off all water supplies (sinks tubs, etc.) when I am not using them and I turn off all lights immediately when I leave the room.

I also try to keep my house cooler during the wintertime and warmer during the summer months.

My home uses a CENTRAL AIR unit as this does save energy all year round.

  2. Changed the products I use to more environmentally friendly ones

Here are a few examples, the list goes on and on. As each year we change more and more things to be more environmentally friendly.

  3. i use public transport more often than my own car and save my town from already polluted with smoke emmission.  I don't burn leaves of my garden and instead make fertilizer from it . I do turn of f lights when not in use and try to save water in all the ways i can. I am also planning for a solar heater so that i can save electricity.

  5. I'm living in it

  6. Hi Scrabble Girl,

As you know I have terminal cancer. But I still like to think I can help others and believe that what I send out comes back to me. On a fixed income I still manage to make a meal about once a week that I give to a homeless person. There are several regular homeless faces in my neighborhood. I don't even know their names and they never ask mine. But they are so grateful when I bring them something to eat.

I also have 3 trash cans in the house. 2 are for recycling and one is for non recyclables. The aluminum I take to recycling centers and get reimbursed for. The paper, plastics, and recyclable cans go into the recyclable trash.

All my light bulbs are energy efficient and I take public transportation.

It's not much, but I like to think it helps.

  7. Most everything you are except walking...I live way out in the boonies and have lung disease, but I recycle clothes, aluminum cans etc. I quit smoking to save me and the trees.

  8. We save our bath and laundry water and use it to flush the toilet.

  9. Here is the list I have come up with.
