  1. There's the ceremonial ground-breaking, the no floor #13 and the laying of the keystone for starters.

Some people will place gemstones in the foundation before its poured and some will spread salt around the foundation,

There's the tradition that the first things to be brought into a new home are salt (for money or so your food has flavor), wine (for good times) and bread (so you'll never be hungry).

Some pagans believe that the first thing brought into the home should be a broom, to sweep away negative energies.

  2. There's "don't build a door facing east"

  3. I was gonna say ..no 13th floor , but someone beat me to it.

  4. Most of the High risers in this country dont have a floor marked 13, This is the only superstition that I know of , What they are in other countries is anyones guess

  5. An old one from England is burying a virgin who died of natural causes in bridges to "guard and protect" them.  The one who was put into London bridge was later found to be suspect on one of the two prerequisites, hence the song "London Bridge is Falling Down".
