I go a 28 low i want to be at 23-24 by september.

  1. I go a 25 high/26 low usually...

    i don't do the event often at meets so I'm not really sure though. (i'm a butterfly girl)

    that's a very tough goal, prepare to work hardd this summer.

  2. You didn't say how old you are, or how long you've been swimming. It's common for new swimmers to drop a lot of time rather quickly. But if you've been swimming for a while, and go a 28 now, it's going to be pretty hard to drop 4-5 seconds in 5 months.

    I'm 15, I go a 25 low.

  4. Im a 15 year old boy, and i go a low 25 on bad days and a high 24 on good days. Dropping 5 seconds will be tought. The 50 isnt really a race of speed, it is a race of perfection. Its all about how well you do your start, turns, and finish. Practice that and try to get some help with your stroke technique. Good luck, but i gotta say i dropped 4 seconds in 5 months, so you can do it. Just motivate yourself and you can accomplish any of your goals.

  5. this is my first year on the swim team and i got a 28 too on my 50 free. getting a 23-24 by september? dang, that's a tough goal to meet but good luck. im going for a more realistic time at the end of this year's season, 26.

I'm only 12 (i'm on my sisters account) and i have a 28 but i'm going a 25.22 in November to make states. just watch me :) im going to work reallllly hard this summer with my dad and sister who are both amazing swimmers. (im on my sisters account right now, she's 14) but i am determined to get that 25.22, and u may think its impossible... but its not.  im a girl btw! and good luck with getting 23-24 :) TRAIN HARD!

Went 24 flat at state meet this year (girl 16).  I must say although you are starting to swim, it will be almost IMPOSSIBLE to get your time that low.  When I first started swimming it took me over a minute to do a lap...must say I've gotten better since then.  I'm just preparing you for disappointment.  However, notice i use the word ALMOST.  In the world of swimming, a lot is possible.  Personally, I went about 1.3 seconds slower last year in the 50, and that is about the interval I have improved at in this event.  I suggest lifting (make sure someone shows you how for SWIMMING purposes) lots of core work will help you out here because if you can strengthen those muscles, your kicks off walls will be MUCH better.  I learned that the hard way at states, was even w/ the girl going into the wall, then she did 6 (YES 6) dolphin kicks off the wall to come up about 8 yds out.  That is A LOT for the 50.  Anyway, she went a 23.33, and from this I have learned what I need to work on going into next season.  Also, make sure you have SNAPPY turns because if you're lazy there, you might as well not do this event.  This is where lifting comes in because if you pull in w/ all your strength into that wall then you will rotate more quickly.  Ever heard of Tennessee turns??  You should think about sliding your feet on the surface of the water as opposed to bringing them out.  Think about shooting your feet right AT the wall, and another way to think about this is essentially bringing your feet to your butt.  I know this has been a lot of info, but hopefully it can help you acheive the time you want!!

  9. This is my first yr. and I got 23 on my 50 freestyle time. Thats a tough goal to get 4 sec. lower. But I did it. I went 11 sec. lower on my 100 backstroke. Just make sure to pace your self. Try to time yourself each lap and KEEP going. Dont stop for a break. Maybe a 5 sec. break between each 50 and do about 5 50's.

  10. You're going to have to train like crazy to get down that low in such a short amount of time, but I'm sure you can pull it off. I went a 23 high when I was 16.

  11. this is my 1st year of swimming competivly and i got a 29.59 about 3 weeks ago
