What are some of your experiences in a Fraternity?

What are the pluses & minuses of joining a Fraternity.

I am considering joining but am unsure.

Pluses:

Great group of friends (if you choose the right fraternity)

Great networking

Valuable experience

You will meet a lot of new people

Sororities

Fun parties

Tons of help in school (chances are there will be at least one person that has the same major as you)

Minuses:

Can sometimes be time consuming

Stressful if you take on the wrong position in the fraternity (don't ever become the treasurer)

A few distractions (from the stress and some of the time involved)
