Some of my favorites are the beauty and the infrastructure. I really have very few complaints, but I wish that restaurants were smoke free. All too often my schnitzel began to taste like smoke.

  1. ive been living in germany for the past year. i love all the history and things you can see. i dont like the weather. where im at we get all seasons in one day. most of the restaurants are smoke free now.

  2. Lived there in the 70's. Hated Osnabruck, the locals hated us. Loved the south, Bavaria was brilliant. Spent time in Weisbaden with the Americans. Loved the food and the local beers.

  3. Favorites: Drinking laws, driving laws, labor laws & bier

Least Favorites: Grouchiness, stubbornness, taxes, taxes, and taxes

  4. I like the landscapes, especially the Black Forest and the Saar-Pfalz area, the public transport, the roads (I'm living in Ireland), the food (except for Schnitzel and Eisbein), the way you can buy any food you fancy in one of the local supermarkets or department stores really anywhere.

I HATE their bureaucracy and their bureaucrats! They are only open during working hours and in general they are the most unhelpful, grumpy and arrogant people I've ever had the misfortune to come across. No wonder S&M never caught on there. If you enjoy being humiliated and degraded you just go to your nearest car registration or tax office. ;-)

  5. i lived there 4 awhile. and i loved everything except the rain but wat can we do about that(although i only lived ther from3 to like 6 or 7 )

  6. Favorite - cake and coffee tradition, cafes, public transportation.

    Least favorite - the weather!

  7. In most states restaurants are now smoke free ... and Schnitzel is not "the" German dish. Try for instance German pasta or "Flammkuchen" .... my favorite part of Germany is Hamburg  - I do not like Berlin.

  8. all together, i like evrything about germany better, except for the fact that every tv show and movie is american it seems. i hate how they incorporate english words into every single sentence. they look up to the u.s like its something great.best things about germany, - bakery shops on every street corner, more liberal, wienerschnitzel, no american football fans, cheaper opportunities for sports, diddl maus, munich, you dont need a car to get everywhere..
