What are some other uses of newspapers?

You know, since those papers are stuffed with lots of nonsense, repeated news, ridiculous articles and more, I prefer to make them more useful.

I use them to polish glass surfaces, as sheets on the floor when cleaning or painting the walls, and oh yea I like to solve those puzzles, crosswords and "sudoku" on the last page!

so how do YOU put it to good uses?

  1. I clean mirrors and windows with them. I also like to use them for paper mache or as drop cloths for messy crafts or household painting. They are great under pumpkins when you make jack-o-lanterns and you can use them to practice your origami! We also use them for crazy things like making newspaper dresses at a bridal shower. I clip the coupons, take out the TV Guide, read the comics and the rest is history.

  2. We use newspapers in rubbish boxes to absorb moisture that leaks through the regular plastic bags (that was used to bring food home with). When the newspaper gets wet it is changed along with the bag.

We also use it as a protector for teflon sauspans when they need to be stacked away.

Newspaper is also a good insulator for wrapping boxes of ice-cream or other cold food, when unable to get home for an hour after shopping.

  3. fire starter, bbq grill starter

    polish chrome

  4. I simply recycle them.

  5. Put on the bottom of a bird cage.
