What are some other ways to help the Earth?

Question

besides recycling, planting, saving energy, and driving less. what are some other ways that you can help save the Earth.

please include small ones too, like watering plants more, and leaving grass clippings on your lawn

Use actual bio-degradable environmentally friendly products, not the ones that are only 10% but are allowed to call themselves such.  

Non-toxic everyday products work just as well without poisoning ourselves, our homes and our planet.

You identified a lot of the ways that help but there are still a few. Eating organic helps because there is less chemicals being used. Buying local food and merchandise because less fuel is used to transport it. Turn down the water heater temp. and use a water heater blanket or better yet use a hot water on demand water heater . Use CFL's. Use window shades in the summer AND winter. Summer to keep the sun and heat out and winter to keep it in once the sun goes down. Composting your food scraps is another good idea. When you do water plants use a soaker hose instead of a sprinkler. Use a power strip or surge protector on all electronics in order to completely power them down or unplug them when not in use. There are just a few but you can always think of more simple ways!

Compost.  Use the finished compost to grow your own herbs, vegetables, or flowers.  Use Freecycle to pass along "stuff" you don't need, and get "stuff "you do need that someone else is done with.  Buy and eat organic food whenever possible.  Own the most fuel efficient car possible, and use it only when necessary (i.e.:  when you can't walk, bus, cycle...)  Share larger items like lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. with neighbours.  Live Simply.
