I am doing a report on drug-abuse for my college class and I was wondering.

I heard one was Coricidin which can be purchased at drug stores, just a regular cough and cold pill. I heard Methamphetamines was derived in it.

Anyone know if that's true or of any other pills?

  1. There are many drugs that can be abused and misused for recreational purposes. The best source to know which are these drugs, is to read the drug schedules made under the " Controlled Substances Act ".

The following link will present every drug, along with references to it:

  2. A lot of cities and towns now restrict OTC (over-the-counter) medications that contain pseudoephedrine.  You have to sign for your purchase, your name is put into a database, and some places restrict you from purchasing any more for a certain length of time (like 2 weeks).

If that particular type of Coricidin contains pseudoephedrine, then it can be used to make meth.

  3. A college report on how to make meth... sure, i believe you.

  4. The drug is called pseudoephedrine, and it's a decongestant used in almost everything that has a decongestant action.  Many  cough and cold mixtures are not useful because it's too difficult to separate out the pseudoephedrine from everything else.

Pharmaceutical meth is sold under the brand name Desoxyn.  It's a rarely used ADD medication.

  5. The d version contains the same decongestant that goes into cooking meth, sudafed.

I think what you have heard about coricidin is the dextromethorphan.

Anything that has sudafed in it can be used in meth production.  Thats why everything that contains it in the US is behind the pharmacy counter and you have to show ID and put your name on a list in order to purchase it.

A lot of people will also abuse benedryal for the sleepy effect. Half of them dont even realize it thats what they are taking.  Benedryal is the sleepy ingredient in most over the counter sleep aids, including both tylonal and advil's pm line.

NyQuil is popular for its alcohol content.  Literally, drinking alcohol.
