What are some places of historical significance in Asia?

Please list a large amount of historical sites located in Asia. They can be anywhere on Asia, building, natural site, city, port, ect. If you need about China, look into specific areas that were part of the spheres of influence, the Grand Canal and how the Opium War was lost when it was invaded.  You can even look into Hong Kong and how the British kind of colonized it.  The Taj Mujal.
