Again, this site http://teenzone.detvora74.ru/news/?id=18 states that the most popular female name in Russia now is Anastasia.

The top five are: Anastasia, Mariya (Russian for Mary), Anna, Darya and Yekaterina.

Please note that this statistics are very recent (2005-2006). My name -"Darya" - used to be rather uncommon in early and mid-eighties. I was the only Darya in my school! Elenas and Tatiana were in abundance though, and are not such popular names now.

I think you have gotten all the answers you need, but I want to add that I am named Yekaterina that shortens to Katya, and every other Russian girl has that name, it is pretty annoying. lol
