What are some positive and negative aspects of speaking publicly?

Its brilliant to have done it gives you confidence to do it again and make it better. I don't get frightened until the last minute - Just before goign up on stage I get this huge dooomph in my stomach but it goes with he first words.

I truly hate going to public speaking that is unimaginative and they just talk to a powerpoint presentation. Pointless makes me mad- I could just take the handout- I really appreciate well done public speaking - its an art form and its great to learn the craft because people get pleasure from it.

I don't know if there are any more downsides. I haven't found any yet.
