We qualified in 3/4: Eng. Pleasure, Eng. Equitation, and Western Pleasure. I chose Eng. P and Eng. Eq. Anyway, What are some state level patterns I could practice. Such as past patterns and ones that require me to think.

  1. What county did you qualify with? I am in Ohio also but I'm too old for 4H :(

You can find some really good patterns online also.  Sometimes you can even find old Fair patterns from past years.  Just go to Google and type in "(your age group, 14-18 for example) English Equitation patterns" and see what comes up.

  2. There's a book called "101Equitation Patterns".  If you can't buy it, go to your closest library and borrow the book.  They have access to libraries throughout your state and I'm sure they can get if for you quickly.  It's great for practicing all kinds of patterns.  I sometimes wonder if they use the same patterns for show, I could swear I've seen the same ones. Good luck.  I love patterns.
