  2. check out preschool crafts on google - or check out Mailbox Magazine at your library - full of ideas.

  3. In our preschool today we made pictures of fireworks.

    black piece of construction paper

small cut up peices (about 1-2 sq.in.) of white red and blue tissue paper

    glue

    white crayon

Draw an outline on the construcion paper with the white crayon in a shooting commit type shape just to give the child a boarder to go by.

put either dots of the glue or 'paint' the glue within the drawn shape.

Then crinkle up the pieces of tissue paper and place them on the glue randomly.

  4. Play dough beaded necklaces:

Have 4's roll out three colors of dough into one multi-colored snake.

Have 4's cut each snake into small chunks.

Have 13 shape into beads and pierce centers of dough with plastic sewing card needle

Dry in a sun lit window

Have 4's string into bead necklaces

    Windy Hair Pics:

Have 13 draw a face on large white paper

Have 13 cut out swatches of fabric from a fabric sample book into squares ( sample books are free from upholstery stores just ask for old ones)

Have 4's glue swatches in rows to create wall art quilt.

Have fours glue on buttons wherever and hang on wall.

  6. There are so many cool things you can do.  ONe of my favorite crafts for summer time is a cd fish.  Use either 2 blank cd's or 2 old cd's that are scratched or not used anymore.  Put a tail and finds on it and decorate.  For a  free pattern and easy to follow directions to this cool craft and many others look at this web site www.dltk-kids.com.  Thye have awsome crafts that contain patterns.  Many of them can be made with old household products or just paper.  Another web site with free patterns is kidsrcrafty.com

  7. I've been a teaching assistant for 23 years and my first 8 years was in Kindergarten and PreK. One project is to get a coffee filter, spread it out and paint it with water colors. Get play dough and cut out things using cookie cutters. Get a big piece of paper and a little tub of paint. Give the child a Hot Wheel car and let them rub the wheels in the paint and make tracks on the paper. I hope these help. Some of my best times were in PreK.
