  1. If you are an American citizen, you need a passport, but you do not need a visa to visit France.  See site below and read under "entry requirements".  You need to decide how to supply yourself with money while there.  Best idea is to use your ATM card to get cash as needed.  Call the cust. service number to be sure you can use your ATM card in France. If you do not speak french, at least get a phrase book and some cd's to listen to to give you a bit of help with common phrases.

  2. A passport is the only ID required to go to France. By French law, everybody is required to carry id on them at all times whether a visitor or resident. One thing I recommend you take is an English-French dictionary. If you learn some very basic French, even if it's just parlez vous anglais?(do you speak English?) you will be treated very nicely. My sister and I went to Paris for a week in 1999. I didn't know French, but my sister knew some. People were a lot friendlier to her than to me because she spoke some French. The French love their language(it's a very beautiful language), and they greatly appreciate it when visitors make at least a rudimentary attempt to speak it.

Also, keep in mind that The Euro is now France's currency. It's a good idea to get some at your bank before you leave,if possible.

  3. well i guess a passport,   some money and also having the ability to talk french

  4. You will need your passport.  Go to your local postal office for information.

You will also need to convert your money to Euros before going there.  You could pay with your credit card, but there is often a charge attached to each transaction which will make the purchases even more expensive.
