I am a recent graduate of a university and wish to find more experience in my field via the miliary: US Navy or USAF.

In regards to BMI and drugs in body, what are the Air Foce and Navy standards?

Are there any other prerequisites that I may need to know of?

Ones that may or may not prevent me from persuing a science/technical position in those branches?

I'm going to talk to a recruiter soon, but figured I'd ask in the mean time.

Thank you for any responses.

  1. BMI both branch's have charts on their web sites for this info

Drugs no / only some DR prescribed allowed

Check the web sites you will get better more accurate Info.

    Vet-USAF

  2. low self esteem, suicidal thoughts, last will and testomit, Depression, PTS, or any other mental dissorder that makes it too painful to live. Why would you want to join now of all times?! Didn't anyone tell you there was a war going on? Surely you've heard of it? Well at least I got to tell you before you ran  off and got yourself killed. Ask these guys about it first and then if you still want to go, have fun.

  3. If you are a Grad then you might want to look into being an Officer. I know that you cannot have any drugs in your system for ANY branches of the Armed Forces. You can go to websites for the BMI. You will have to go through a complete physical including a drug test and a HIV test. Depending on your job there could also be background checks for security clearences.

  4. Im assuming your talking about legal drugs, and in that case.

None will be allowed at basic training. None. Zero. You can get some when you get out of basic, but if you cant survive for a few weeks without it, no-go.
