What are some problems we have in our society that are not really talked about?

The ignorance that people in our country have.  I mean, we elect public servants and political figures with their " vote for me, I'm wholesome and flawless" rhetoric, then we turn a blind eye when they do something illegal or immoral.  I've heard many times over from people that they voted for someone that's "moral" or has "good Christian values", and when that elected person DOES do something illegal or immoral, there's no public outcry at ALL to get rid of them.  

WHY???  

Why are we so two-faced in this country?  

Another thing I'd like to know is why it used to be that you couldn't swear on TV or the radio, and now for some reason you can.  Sexual innuendo is rampant in both TV and radio, both in music and the talk shows.  It used to be illegal for that to happen.  Where have the morals gone?  I'm only 40, and I get disgusted by the filth I see and hear every day.  Yes, I turn the channel, but if there were actually standards, I wouldn't have to!

Well, I recently came across a book by Cynthia Baron (cited below) about ethical issues regarding the use of PhotoShop and other digital photograph enhancers.  The book has plenty of surprisingly shocking examples of how photographs are altered to influence our values and attitudes.  It's not that photos have never been altered for that purpose before.  It's that now, PhotoShop makes it easier for ANYBODY to fix up any photograph and achieve professional-looking results.  In fact, it has become so easy and so commonplace that insurance companies, forensic specialists, scientists, legal authorities, and the media, have all been seriously and sometimes ruinously affected by PhotoShop alterations.  The aforementioned book is very thick and has tiny lettering, but the photographs are extraordinary.
