Believe it or not, my hairdresser recommended olive oil. It barley takes any and its cheaper than getting smoothing products from the stores. Plus its really good for your hair. You take just a little bit (I use like the size of a nickle, but I have hair that's down past my bra strap and very thick) rub it in your hands and smooth over your hair. Don't start at the scalp because it can make your hair look greasy. Start about 3 inches down from your scalp and once you've run it down to the ends of your hair, you can run your hands over your scalp with the remains of whats left on your hands. It works!

Chemical products might not be that good for the hair as they might rip the nutrients out of them.You could use a proper hair conditioner.One more tip is that if you are wash your hair with warm water to open up the follicles and clear the dirt and at the end of washing use cold water to wash it.This would close back the hair follicles and would give a nice and smooth look.
