I am the recently elected vice president of my school. I am in charge about internal school problems. I decided about cleanliness of my school. What are some projects for waste management or redusal?

Get recycling bins, reduce the amount of soda/candy bought during the day.. we used to do that at my old school we couldnt buy soda or candy until noon and then we could only buy it for 2 hours then the machines locked again and we couldnt buy anything again until after school got out. you could have the kids help clean the inside and maybe give them some type of job well done thing?!

Besides recycling the plastic containers, you can improve your work or home environments by bringing live potted plants indoors.

Major items needed:

One empty plastic gallon container.   Tree Top Apple Juice is preferred, or equal in shape.

One empty plastic ½ gallon container.  Langers All Pomergranate Juice is preferred or equal.

Directions:  Lay the plastic gallon container on its side so the front label is facing up.  Place the empty plastic half gallon container on the label and with a sharpie pen outline the bottom on the Tree Top label and with a sharp knife carefully cut the outline.  Insert the half gallon into the hole until it rest on the back label of the gallon container.  Then mark and cut approximately one inch above the cut on the ½ gallon  to complete your planter container.  Remove and drill several ¼ inch holes on the bottom of the ½ gallon cut container for drainage.

Fill the cut ½ gallon planter with one inch of gravel before putting in good potting mix soil and live growing plant.  If you make two or more you can pour the water back and forth and not waste the water with the nutrients.

Sort out the recycling into special bins- a colour for each type , plastic, oragnic, glass, card, metal, fabric, etc...

Get the the students to each paint and design ther bin- have a wieght or efficiency competition- speak with you teacher

Chewing gum is always a problem in school- get special gum drops or bins

detention's should involve cleaning a house keeping of the school- y'know removing rubber marks from in the corridors, a litter patrol

look at putting in (anti bacteria) hygiene sparys in the toilets

use sign to spread the word- not the bacteria'

Get Teacher to run a new class to show you microbes and germs under the microscope and how this all works

get the gardener to have a composting area from kitchen watse veg and stuff that everone can add too.

have a cleanilness pize for the best class or house team- during term

Get a school visit to recycling center, or land fill site, even a sewage treatment plant may be an eye opener (or eye waterer!).

well, first, is an effective campaign., i mean, they SHOULD KNOW WHY THEY SHOUL BE throwing their garbage properly. raise thei level of awarness about this issue of waste managment and then recycle, reuse and reduce.
