  2. ionic compounds are polar compounds.they have high melting and boiling points.they are veery much soluble in water and insoluble in non polar solvents like benzene, carbon tetra chloride etc.they can even act as conductors.

                    triple bonds are formed when the s orbital of one element overlaps with the s of other.and then the two pure p orbitals of the first one overlaps sideways with the 2 p of the second.
