I want to get an associates in business admin and in accounting. Can anyone tell me any comments, experiences, advice, opinions about any of the two majors. Is it bad to get an associates for a community college instead of a university?

  1. It depends on how good you are. I personally think it is better for you to do the two degrees at uni.

The pros are that you have a wider skills base and are more likely to be employed.

But the cons are that is it expensive and your age at the end of them with a lack of experience may counteract any advantages you gain through doing the two.

  2. They are similar so many of the courses you take will count for both (they do at my school). It's never bad to earn a degree (or 2) from any accredited institution! Keep in mind that two Associate degrees don't amount to a Bachelors, so if it will take you an extra 2 years to get the second degree then transferring to a university and minoring in the other discipline might be a better option.
