  1. There is one place that to me is like paradise. I'm Costa Rican and I must admit that I didn't see this place until a couple of years ago when I took my boyfriend, who is American, to meet my family. It's a beach called Montezuma. It is so unbelievably beautiful that you won't want to leave ever! It takes quite a while to get there. You have to go from the San Jose (capital) to Puntarenas (pacific coast) by car or bus (takes like two hours). When you're there, you have to take the ferry to get to ther other side of the gulf (another 2 hours) Then another bus for another 2 hours. But once you finally make it, you don't regret it because it is the most beautiful place you could imagine. Roads are rough so i wouldn't recommend to drive if you are not from there, but public transportation is pretty good. Good luck and have fun!

  2. I would say on the Atlantic side it would be Cahuita and Tortuguero but the Atlantic tends to be very rainy.   Arenal volcano is a must (spring for the Tabacon hot springs at night even though it is very expensive).   Monteverde is another place that you shouldn't miss.  Then I would say Manuel Antonio, the Osa Pennisula,  Rincon de Vieja and somewhere in Guanacaste like Tamarindo.

  3. Tabacon Hot Springs near the Arenal Volcano.  Don't stay at their resort though...way overpriced and touristy.  Get a hotel in the Arenal area and buy a tour that includes a stop at the hot springs.  It was amazing.

  4. Arenal an Poas Volcano, Playa Tamarindo, Playa Conchal, Puerto Viejo, Playa Dominical, Playa Cabuyal (nude beach), Monteverde......

  5. Arenal Volcano, Monteverde Cloud Forest, Osa Peninsula, beach at Manuel Antonio:

  6. I can tell you where not to go - Puerto Limon. If for some scary reason you do, there is a park near the ship terminal where you pay a litle kid a couple of cents and he will bring you to see a sloth in the park.
