  1. Basically, South Street consists of little boutiques & food stores.

The best thing to do there is shop around a little, get a cheesesteak, & just relax.

Theres also the Theater of Living Arts on South Street, so you can usually catch a good concert there at night.

  2. The Mutter Museum of Medical Oddities...not sure where it is though.

First Friday's (1st Friday night of the month) usually see some galleries opening their doors and serving drinks and appetizers.

Just walking the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on the way up to the Museum is nice, and once up to it, go around the back.  There's a little gazebo up there, and from there you can see a spiral staircase to a little secluded spot right on the river.  It's cleaned up, lit and it's not like it's a secret, just not too many people bother with it, but it's a really nice place to relax at.

Walk the Kelley Drive trail and keep an eye out for random little trail offshoots.  This is all Fairmount Park, and is a nice area...be careful walking around by yourself though, and especially at night.  It's still the City, you know?

Check out all of the squares...Rittenhouse, Franklin, Washington, etc.  I think you can also get into the top of City Hall, just underneath of Billy Penn.

The 'people-watching' in the Gallery is intense.  If you need to get out, there's also a food court in Liberty One...totally different people-watching going on.

You can walk across the Ben Franklin Bridge, and I think that if there's a game on at the Camden Riversharks Stadium, they leave the walkway open until 10pm.  Might want to check though, otherwise you'll have to find the PATCO line yourself.  Shouldn't be hard, but it's not exactly where you want to be by yourself at night.

This is all kind of Philadelphia in general.  South Street is a lot of shops and restaurants that you can check out just by walking around.  There are also a couple of music venues around there, but you can usually walk right up unless there's a big show in town.
