What are some reaction time labs/experiments that high schoolers can perform?

two people.

One holds their index finger and thumb open about 3cm.

the second person holds a 30cm ruler between the open fingers so the open fingers are at 0cm

without warning the person holding the ruler lets go and the other person has to close their fingers and catch the ruler.

peoples reaction times can be compared by how many centimetres of the ruler passes before they catch it - more cm's = slower reactions.

the distance between the open fingers must be the same for everyone.

using some physics calculations you could also work out the time passed
