you could try mini pizzas.. put some white bread in a muffin tin (squish it in) bake for a few minutes.. remove and add toppings.. then bake for another few minutes. :)

Bread pudding can be either sweet or savory containing meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc.

I slice french bread thinly, toast it, and spread it with pesto.  Love it!
