  1. You dont like sea duty, you can't take confined spaces for long extensions of time, you cant take orders from others above you no matter how stupid they sound, you get sea sick, you hate the ocean, you want to join another armed forces, the navy doesn't offer a rate that you would enjoy, etc...

Navy is second easiest though I'd say, air force is easiest, well really depends on your job. but really you have to recognize you will be out at sea for 6 months at a time and then 6 months ashore, but army and marines are even longer and dont go country to country, they stay in one country at a time (most of the time).

  2. Can't speak for the Navy now, I was in 45 years ago. Can't think of any reason not to join. I can counter every one of the ones you have been given so far. For example:

You get sea sick. So did I but then you get you sea legs and are fine. I was on a tin can so I know what rough seas are.

Sea duty is boring. Not so. You will be working 8-12 hours a day, if not more. You will make friends, shipmates for life. I am still in touch with some now, 50 years later. You can spend hours playing cards, not boring. Go out on deck during darken ship, in the middle of the ocean, at night. No light anywhere other then more stars then you have ever seen and the fluorescent wake of the ship.

Six months at sea. On my first six month deployment to the Med. we spent 28 days at sea on NATO exercises with the British and French navies. The next five months were in the Med. We hit about 12 ports, some more then once, in Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Turkey. That is more then two ports a month at about five days each. So that comes out to be about half our time in port.

Roaches in the kitchen? No. Ships have galleys not kitchens.

I could go on. My two years on that little tin can were the best years of my life.

  3. umm its the navy enough said....    i guess it depends on what you want to do navy has good med program but as for me no way could i deal with the 6months or more at sea as much as they do im in the army ill take a yr deployed on land over 6 months or nothin but ocean around (also has 2nd highest std rate of the military only behind the air force) but again depends on what you want to do because u might not be on a ship

  4. One reason - Sailors belong on ships, and ships belong at sea.

Duty at sea is extremely boring. I can remember weeks wasted floating around on a PIRAZ (positive identification radar advisory zone) station with little to do but stand watches and run the same stupid drills over and over again.

If you want to see the world, be an airline stewardess.

  5. The same reason for joining the Navy.

    Ex- RNR

  6. You WANT an unskilled labor job like Walmart or Dairy Queen.

You WANT to pay for college yourself.

You WANT to be poor and live at home forever.

You WANT to end up pregnant and poor.

You WANT to be an underachiever.

You WANT to shelter yourself from the rest of the real world.

You WANT to have a life filled with dead end jobs at the mall.

You WANT to live without medical or dental insurance.

You WANT to work jobs that won't give you a retirement check and full medical benefits after just 20 years.

You WANT to listen to your stupid friends and family that WANT to keep you down with them.

Think for yourself.  The Navy is a great life and the benefits are awesome even if you choose to only stay in 4 years.  Everyone that says c**p about joining the Navy has no idea what all the great things about the Navy are.  Yeah, I really hated being a tourist in Australia, Hawaii, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brazil, Chile, Peru and the 42 + states I have visited since being in.  I make $75K a year and only pay taxes on $23K.  Oh what a horrible life.  Just do it.  You will love the experience and have the time of your life.  Stop listening to anyone but you.  You can achieve so much in the Navy while all your friends and family members stay in nearly the same spot while you are gone for 4 years.  You can get your 4 year college degree for free in 4 years if you work hard.  You also get 30 days of leave a year.  I know people that have worked for companies for 10+ years and they still only get 10 days of vacation.  It is a scary choice to pick up and leave home but once you make tons of new friends it is like a big party in college except you are getting paid to be there.  Just do it.

  7. 1.) u can b so much better

    2.) no action

    3.) u cant b all u can be

    4.) no individual strength

    5.) youre not a chicken

    6.) you have honor

  8. you dont like to swab the decks

    you get sea sick

you are afraid of getting raped

you want to join the marines

you want to join the army

these reasons aside the navy is probably the safest service to be in

  9. The pay sucks. Most kitchens on naval ships have cockroaches, and you get charged for the food cooked in such kitchens whether you eat it or not. Health and dental care kinda suck.

  10. I personally can't stand small spaces, even compact cars can give me fits.  I'm not sure if you are familar with the term hot racking?   I'd have gone AWOL for sure.

  11. Men who have been in the navy are the only ones can  give you reasons why not to join, ask them and see if you can agree with their views, I was in for the war years, I took soldiers to the beaches, I preferred to leave the rest to them, I would not have changed places with them.

  12. the only reason that matters to me would be, because i don't want to.

a thumbs down because i don't want to join the Navy??? how pathetic i should have joined the Navy because i didn't want to, but wanted to join the Army. your sad.

  13. 1. Sailors belong on ships, and ships belong at sea.

    2. Duty at sea is extremely boring.

    3. Because you don't want too.

    4. You get sea sick [though so do I]

Keep in mind that the Navy has the best food, and the highest pay.

No other US military branch can compete in terms of quality food or tax-free pay.

  14. The life in the military is not an easy one, it does not matter which branch of the service in which you serve. Two good things about the Navy is that you will have a place to sleep and you will have food to eat. You may not get to sleep as much as you need, but you will have someplace to sleep.

It is important that you make the decision to enter the military serve and which service to join. Please, do not let other pressure you. Also, remember the recruiters only care about their quotes. They will tell you ANYTHING to get you to join. You will be away from friend and family for a long time, so be sure you are making the right choice.
