If you have any credentials to be saying what you are saying please mention them, I'd just like to know who am I getting my info from.

Some of you sound like Automotive or Oil company lobbyists

  1. we don't f**t as much as dinosaurs

  2. You are seeking a non-existence proof.  You should (and probably do) know that such proofs do not exist.

However, we can show that the present argument in favor of the greenhouse effect as the cause of global warming is flawed.

    Let's try this:

    *IF* CO2 causes global warming,

*THEN* the earth's climate should change in the way that the IPCC predicts.

    Seems fair, doesn't it?

The IPCC includes heat maps in their 2007 report (FAR figure 9.1) to show how CO2 and other greenhouse gasses will affect atmospheric temperatures around the world.

The problem is, the earth isn't doing what the IPCC's heat maps say that it should be doing.  (Temperature Trends in the Lower Atmosphere, figure 5.7)

    Oops!  Let's recheck the logic . . .

If CO2 causes global warming, then the earth will do this.

The earth does not do this.

    Therefore _____ .

My answer is a rehash of the first reference below.  It is recommended reading for those on both sides of the global warming issue.

I am interested in reasonable arguments in opposition to this one, or identication of fallacies within my own argument.  Please share.

  3. Volcanoes and cow's farts.

  4. There aren't any.  There are many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

By the way in case you couldn't tell, "Doctor in Climatology" is a liar.  His previous screen names were 'Speaker of the Truth' and 'Bob', and he's not even a scientist, let alone a climate scientist.

  5. What are some reasons Global Warming is not being created by humans?

Simply put, the planet has been warming since the last ice age (the big one and the little). This proves, that the planet warms apart from human activity. There is know way to deny this. So the question becomes:

Has there been an increase in global warming. I believe there has been, but I cannot identify the causes. Is it human activity? It might be a contributor, but I doubt we know to what extent. Life tends to flourish in warmth where there is water. RainForests team with lfe, ice caps are barren, tropical seas are teaming, polar seas less so. Migratory animals like whales, consume plankton, which flourish in the upper waters where sunlight (photosynthesis) and oxygen are. Almost all life depends on warrmth, there is a reason we farm in the warm months. A biproduct of life, is CO2. If warnth leads to life, and life to CO2, and CO2 to warmth, are we going to stop that? What about water vapor. Water vapor is also a green house gas, a much larger one that CO2. More warmth equals more water vapor, and more water vapor, leads to more trapped heat, are we going to stop that?

It stikes me quite likely, that warming continues, naturally, until the Sun goes into a cooler phase. We know that it cycles, and we can do nothing about the sun, unless we build a very large umbrella in outer space, isn't going to happen.

By the way Johnnie B, I think you number is off on oxygen levels. Mountain climbers and pilots have a much lower availability to oxygen than is represented by 19.5%, and as I recall from diving certification classes, we pass out at about 10%

  6. There's a number of scientists (and ordinary common sense folks) who agree with this sentiment, but the study I'm referencing here was done by Dr. Zbigniew Jaworowski in Warsaw, Poland.  He's served as the chair for the UNSCEAR (the United Nation's Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation), and has studied glacier samples across the world, including studying the heavy metals and radionucleotides contained within.

He basically contends a number of things, most important is that solar activity is the main driving factor for the earth's climate.  Also he points out that C02 levels typically trail behind a change in climiate, meaning that C02 levels are a marker of something that's already happened, not a major cause of climate change.

Oh, and to reply to Dana1981, Master of Science:

The claim "if it were caused by the sun, it would get really warm during the day and not at night"... is far from correct.  Honestly, let's all use our common sense and think on that one for a second, if you heat something to 100 degrees, it'll take longer to cool down than if you heated something to only 85 degrees.

And your assertion that "if it were caused by the sun, it would heat all layers of the atmosphere" is also wholly incorrect.  Since you claim to have a masters of science degree, I'll assume you understand how infrared radiation works, and you simply didn't connect the two and realize that since there's "nothing" (well, "very little something") for infrared radiation to be absorbed by in the upper atmosphere, it would not heat the atmosphere itself, but rather would be heating the ground levels and denser (lower) layers of the atmosphere, which absorbs infrared heat very well.

  7. It is simple ,don't go by there calculations but measure it. CO2 is the gas that they tell u is a major source ,get someone to measure it. If it were as high as they want u to believe ,people would be dieing. Oxygen is 20.9% of our atmosphere . The lower safe level is 19.5%. If it goes below this we will pass out.

Then there is methane ,measure it . Oh U cant find it either . A clue,Methane is very light and is high in the upper atmosphere. It is also explosive. We have high flying planes go through it and none have caused an exploseion.

These are 2 of the major problems but they are not there.

  8. Humans are better able to change with the climate. If the ice caps melt to a point where coastal cities are underwater, It's O.K., the survivors will simply move to a safer place and start all over again. It's caveman style.

  9. The upper atmosphere is cooling, while the lower is warming.  I don't feel like looking up sources, but trust me on this one.  The sun simply doesn't do that...  It requires the greenhouse effect to trap heat in the lower atmosphere.  That is enhanced by humans.  We Win!!!

  10. I have been doing much experimentation in climatology and I surprisingly have come to the conclusion that global warming is really not the big of a threat and that most of global warming is natural.

  11. The Earth gets all its warmth from the Sun.  Variations in the output of the Sun is what causes variations in the earths climate.
