  1. There is a series that you can download easy ,called

    bbc,Planet earth by David Attenborough.

    About 15 ---700mb videos

this is a photographic team that has been filming Nature stories all over the world ,for a very long time .

In 3 of the episodes called --the future--saving species(this one covers extinction and the importance of species)

the future--living together ,ice worlds ,

they compare films they made before of places and species to what they are filming now in the same places.

Many scientists give commentaries as well .

And whole migrations of animals involving millions have disappeared in only 20 years,

in one place in the tundras ,in just 5 years .

    Ice sheets,glaziers have gone

They say about half of the worlds forests have gone in the last 300 years

Half of the natural habitats, like wetlands , ice fields tundras, mountain vegetation and rain forests . in the last 50 years, and all of the inhabitants with it

Global warming is a component in a group of destructive forces at work ,it is not the only one , but other factors which we are responsible for ,are rapidly making it the worst .

We are now witnessing a mass Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions, equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs.

Loss of habitat, rivers drying up because of deforestation ,changes in climate that affect microbe ,then insect life and all that follows up in the food chain,

Expanding farming,Population Growth and subsequent  urbanization, bush fires,Hunting for the pet market and exotic medicines, contaminated soils, waters and air

are the main Factors affecting animal populations

  2. main one; habitat loss.

also, pollution (esp. amphibians, fish and reptiles), competition by invasive species, and increasingly climate change

  3. To outline briefly, animals become endangered because of:

    - Habitat loss due to logging and clearing (deforestation).

    - Hunting for sport, food, medicine, fashion.

    - Capturing and trafficking by illegal trade.

    - Environmental pollution.

    - Invasive species.

    - Climate change.

  4. Human population growth - it puts a drain on the planet's resources as well as encrouching on habitats.

  5. rainforest deforestation!!!!

  6. Currently I believe the main problem is the human population and habitat encroachment (to include rain-forest destruction).  Also resource extraction (to include poaching) and pollution, followed by global warming.

  7. 1.hunters

    2.pollution

    3.the sea water is

    a warmer temperture.

    4.fresh water

    5. landwaste

    laney

  8. destroying their habitats, hunting them, not helping them to live..........are there any other reasons???

  9. They just taste so darn good!!!

  10. The main reason right now is habitat degradation.  Different animal species need habitats of a certain size to survive, and as the human population grows, more of these habitats are turned into farmland and, in the United States at least, suburbia.  Aquatic habitats are being compromised by pollution, oil drilling, and fishing practices that destroy the ocean floor, not to mention that many species of fish are captured for food in such large numbers that their population can't be sustained.

Also different types of animals reproduce at different rates, and those who reproduce the slowest, such as primates and large mammals like tigers and elephants, have more specific habitat needs than animals that reproduce quickly, like mice.  Even eagles and condors have less young per brood and broods per year than many songbird species.  When the field where the mouse lives is destroyed for farmland, the mouse can move into a different habitat, such as a barn.  But when the lake that the eagle catches fish from or the jungle where the gorilla lives is destroyed,  they have nowhere else to go.

It doesn't help that many of these large, slow-reproducing species are prized by hunters, either.

Global warming is a factor because the rise in the Earth's temperature and the dramatic weather events caused by it contribute to the destruction of various habitats all over the world.

  11. There could be a no. of reasons ranging from destruction of habitat to overhunting of the species

  12. well it is not because of hunters, maybe poachers.

    nature

mostly humans taking up more space then ever.

  13. they can't adapt!  why are some animals thriving?
