  1. depends on the car and horsepower. different transmissions and clutches are rated for a certain amount of horsepower. other people use upgraded clutch and flywheel for better shifting (its best to do both at the same time, because theres no point in tearing apart the transmision twice) if you are planning on adding a substantial amount of power to your vehicle id recommend stage 3 but if u are lightly modifying or just want a stronger clutch id go for a more streetable version

  2. Clutch kits are used for upgrading the holding power of your factory transmission and clutch setup. If you decide to haul heavy loads or add extra horsepower to your car, you will need a high performance clutch upgrade to handle of the extra stress. You can only make a limited number of horsepower upgrades before you have to upgrade your clutch. A performance clutch gives your car the capacity to handle the increased horsepower and torque.

I would also check out Clutch Masters.

  3. Check the rules of the race track. Some times heavy duty clutches are illegal. If  they're legal it will last a lot longer than a stock clutch.
